I mostly buy makeup not because I need it but because I want to just have it in my collection :p and maybe I’ll need it one day for that makeup look I want to achieve. So this I write with all my heart because it is SUCH a BIG dilemma for me; as I am sure it is for many girls out there.
As we all know, all hell broke loose when Huda Kattan release her Liquid Matte Lipsticks on National Lipstick Day 2016. For a makeup junkie like myself it became a matter of serious concern whether to invest in Kylie Jenner Lip Kits or the Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks. Both the beauty living legends have been able to woo the hearts of millions and have sold (stock out) their lippies in record time!
It is one thing to be in the US and to avail all the nice Christmas deals that have been going on lately. But being in Pakistan you really have to prioritize; with the shipping and customs each lipstick can cost up to $40!!!
So I set out on my mission to to accommodate 1 Kylie and 1 Huda Lippie into my makeup bag (which is costing me like $75). I checked swatches and YouTube tutorials/reviews and Instagram and what not to ensure I got the best possible answer as to which shade to get. I am a regular user of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and I love the formula and the price tag that it carries. In Pakistan, you can get 1 shipped for like $12 (which IS double the price you get online in U.S.). I come across so many other options like Jeffree Star, Gerard and Tarte; it is so difficult to choose.
Then I came across this ====> 54 Kylie Dupes
I started going through Pinterest for Dupes. I realized that most of the shades I had already in different Brands like MAC or NYX or Colourpop (for eg. the gorgeous Mary Jo K I was totally obsessing over until I realized I already have Ruby Woo by MAC and many bloggers have added this resemblance to their List of Dupes.)
The famous Huda Beauty shades Flirt, Trophy Wife and Bombshell are also available in Gerard Cosmetics, ColourPop and NYX. Plus many more!
Go to the link above before you hastily purchase these pricey lippies because you might just have something similar lying around in your makeup bag… don’t ignore something just because it comes without a fancy name attached to it!
So yea, basically, I have decided not to get Kylie ones right now. I’ll stick to getting a Gerard lippie; we’ll see where it goes from there. I want to check for myself if they are worth the hype.
